Alice E. Spearry, age 88, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. Ohio. She was born July 14, 1934 in Jackson, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles Zern Marquis and Bernetta Clark Marquis. Alice was a loving housewife, homemaker, and a warrior for Christ. She was a member of the Community Chapel Church of Christ and Christian Union in Wellston. Alice loved to read, and she enjoyed writing poetry and music, as well as fellowshipping with her family and friends. Alice is survived by her children, Mike Barnhill (Tonda Wilson) of Washington Court House, Marilyn Kay Hall (Orman) of Lancaster, Gloria Jean Wittkamp of Jackson, Janice Elaine Fout of Chillicothe, Ray Alva Spearry, Jr. of Wellston, and Robert Eric Spearry (Tina) of Jackson; along with 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ray Alva "Rosie" Spearry, Sr. in 2017; sisters, Donna Marie Clark and Ruth Ann Sims; brother, Charles Calvin Marquis; and great-grandsons, Mason Spearry and Jonah Barnhill. Calling hours will be Monday, May 22nd, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Thacker officiating. Following cremation, burial will be in the Salem Cemetery.
