Barbara R. "Barbie" Boyer, age 60, of Hamden, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at Buckeye Forest Nursing Facility in Jackson.  She was born June 29, 1964, daughter of Charles E. Boyer and Barbara Carolyn Thacker Boyer.  Barbie was a 1982 graduate of Vinton County High School, as well as a cosmetology school graduate.  She was a licensed cosmetologist and barber and a former employee of Austin Powder.  Barbie always enjoyed working out in her yard and taking care of her toy Doberman Macie.  She is survived by her father, Chuck Boyer of Hamden; daughter, Natasha Boyer of Hamden; granddaughter, Kalen Boyer; special friend, Margie Barlow of Piketon, along with 1 aunt, 1 uncle and several cousins and friends.  Barbie was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Carolyn Boyer; her twin sister, Kimmy; sister, Roxanne, grandparents, aunts and uncles.  Cremation followed Barbie's passing and a graveside service at Hamden Cemetery will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Barbie's memory be given to either the Vinton County Dog Shelter, 31479 St. Rt. 93, McArthur, Ohio 45651 or the Jackson County Dog Pound, 25 South Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
