Barbara Elaine Perdue McClaskey, age 76, of Radcliff, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, at her home. She was born December 17, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Kermit Christopher Perdue and Mary Elizabeth Forgrave Perdue. Barbara graduated from Belpre High School in 1964 and retired as an industrial worker from Elkem Metals in Marietta, Ohio. Barbara was a very loving, caring and giving person who had a strong love for animals. She was known to rescue any animal in need and always put the care of animals before herself. Barbara's family was her life, and it was very important to her to keep in contact with extended family members, whether it be by a visit, phone call or sending birthday cards and Christmas wishes. She was always thinking of others. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Jackie Hunt of Lubeck, West Virginia, and Casey and Patsy Boston of Thurman; grandchildren, Lanae Dailey, Kristiana Hunt, Philip Hunt and Brady Boston; great-grandson, Henry Dailey; brothers, Larry R. Perdue of Denver, Colorado, and Kenny C. Perdue, and wife, Paula, of Waverly, Tennessee; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Roger L. McClaskey; sister, Nancy Perdue; and her cousin, raised as a sibling, Jim Forgrave. In keeping with Barbara's wishes, cremation followed her passing. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Barbara's memory be given to the Athens County Humane Society, P.O. Box 765, Athens, Ohio 45701, or through their website at www.athenshumane.org/donate. Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.
