Betty L. Fox, age 85, of Wellston, passed away unexpectedly on Christmas day, Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio.  She was born May 7, 1939 in Jackson, Ohio, daughter of the late Robert A. Scites and Ruby B. Dearing Scites.  Betty was a 1957 graduate of Jackson High School and The Ohio State School of Cosmetology.  Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who in years past was an employee at Ralston Purina and Banquet Foods.  In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, working in her flower gardens and cooking for big family gatherings.  She is survived by her husband of 49 years, George D. Fox; children, Jody Vickers (Peggy), Kim Mercer (Danny Smith), Lori Vickers, Dawn Guess, Matt Fox (Elizabeth), and Gabe Fox (Marcie); siblings, Linda Morgan, Sylvia Fannin, Barb Jones (Delbert), Rick Scites (Pat) and Roger Scites (Cathy), along with 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Calling hours will be Saturday, December 28th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Karen Adams officiating.  Burial will be in the Bentley Family Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
