Betty Jean Marcum, age 84, of Albany, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Four Winds Community in Jackson.  She was born November 22, 1937 in Winston Salem, North Carolina to the late William Vestal Kirby and Hazel Agusta Cline Kirby.  Betty is survived by her daughter, Janet Barney of Wilkesville; grandchildren, Jeremy Barney, Ronald Barney and Brandon Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Dylan Barney, Brandon Hamilton, Jr., Joseph Qualls, Brittany Qualls and Wesley Lester; great-great-granddaughter, Azalea; and sister, Patricia Smith of Michigan.  Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Wayne "Shorty" Marcum in 1995; daughter, Patricia Marcum; grandson, Joseph Qualls; and 2 brothers.  In keeping with Betty's wishes, her body was cremated.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
