Rev. Bobby L. Porter, age 85, of Jackson, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.  He was born June 21, 1939 in Chattaroy, West Virginia, son of the late Frank Porter and Ruth Varney Porter.  Bobby was a veteran of the United States Navy stationed on the USS Intrepid.  He was a graduate of Rio Grande College, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in education.  Bobby was a devoted Christian and gospel minister who served as the former pastor at Radcliff Fellowship Chapel for several years.  Bobby loved the Lord and enjoyed spreading the gospel to others around him.  He was also a former coal miner with Southern Ohio Coal Company Meigs #31 for 25 years.  Bobby was a member of the UMWA and Radcliff Fellowship Chapel.  In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, reading, and going to church.  Bobby is survived by his wife of 43 years, Evelyn Pendleton Porter; children, Deborah Mohler (Donald) and Ruth Roberts; grandchildren, Donnie Mohler (Heather), Joshua Mohler (Angel), Natasha Beasley (Stetson), Bradley Dent, and Kasey "Punky" Woodrum (Jeffrey); great-grandchildren Elijah Dent, Marley Woodrum, Dean Woodrum, Evan Woodrum, Bryant Mohler, Jeremiah Mohler, and Lyla Beasley; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Diamond and Eloise Porter.  Calling hours will be Friday, August 9th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will be Saturday, August 10th, at 1 p.m. at the Radcliff Fellowship Chapel with Pastor Rick Kincaid and Pastor Richard Moore officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Radcliff Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliamsfuneralhome.com.
