Butler Howard "Bones" Smith, age 62, of Wellston, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 13, 2023, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio.  He was born May 5, 1961 in Dayton, Ohio to Butler Smith and Dorothy E. Traughber Smith.  Howard was a carpenter, handyman, and Jack of all trades.  He enjoyed fishing, working and tinkering in the garage, and joking around with his family and friends.  Howard was a member of the Army National Guard.  He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Smith of Wellston; his wife of 40 years, Vivian Marie Martin Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Della Smith of Oak Hill; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Howard was preceded in death by his father, Butler Smith.  Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 19th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m.  Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
