Carl Richard "Rick" Muncy, Sr. age 77, of Wellston, passed away Friday evening, October 10, 2025, at his home. He was born February 24, 1948 in Gallipolis, Ohio and was raised by his grandmother, Leona Muncy. Rick graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1966 where he enjoyed playing sports with the Wellston Golden Rockets. He retired from Global Telecommunications where he served as the director of operations. As a youngster, Rick attended the First Baptist Church in Wellston with 10 years of perfect attendance, and as an adult, he attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Gallipolis. He was a former Junior Governor for the Local Order of the Moose in Jackson. Rick loved going fishing and was an amazing golfer. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes and watching NASCAR racing and Dale Earnhardt. In years past, Rick was a great traveling softball coach and was a national registered USSSA umpire for many years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy E. Chandler Muncy; daughter, Carla G. Muncy McCarthy (Robert); son, Carl R. "Rick" Muncy, Jr.; grandchildren, Brittany Rodgers, Justin McCarthy (Elizabeth Palmisano), Chelsey Stanley, Chloe Fisher (Chad), Kaylei Stone (Adam), and Cameron Muncy; great-grandchildren, Heaven Rodgers, Sofie Rodgers, Ronan McCarthy, and Atlas Stone; siblings, Christy Allen (Roger), Jerry Barnett (Lily), April Barnett Webb (Brent), Terry Barnett (Loretta), Timothy Barnett, and Thomas Barnett, along with several nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his grandmother Muncy; father, Glen Barnett; daughter, Jacqueline Stanley; sister, Amy Barnett Waldron; and brothers, Gary Barnett and James Barnett. Calling hours will be Friday, October 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 18, at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Mathews officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery.
