Carolyn M. Baxter, age 78, of Wellston, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born February 11, 1946 in Fort Scott, Kansas, daughter of the late Edgar O. Bright, Sr. and Wilma May Arnold Bright. Carolyn graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1964, and she always enjoyed helping organize and attending her class reunions throughout the years. She was a former legal secretary and an employee of Banquet Foods prior to starting her dog grooming business, Carolyn's K-9 Grooming, which she had for 37 years. Carolyn was a member of the McArthur Christian Church and attended the Allensville Christian Church, where she was the church pianist for several years. She was musically talented and shared her God given talent with others. Carolyn was a collector of numerous figurines including angels, cardinals, and dogs, to name a few. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and doing what she loved most, spending time with her family. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ronald F. Baxter; children, Ann Marie Callebs (Rick), John O'Shea (Brittani), and Clayton Baxter (Kate Bell); grandchildren, John Patrick O'Shea, Bryce Kauffman, Morhiah O'Shea, Bryan Callebs, Kati O'Shea, Jay Callebs, Brenlyn Baxter, and Brooklyn Moore (Alex); great-grandchildren, Willa Cox, Beau Moore, and Tate Moore; sister, Nora Carver; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edgar Bright, Jr. Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 19th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Elder Chuck Fri officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
