Catherine I. "Sis" Ousley, age 76, of Jackson passed away peacefully Friday, September 8, 2023 at Edgewood Manor in Wellston, Ohio.  She was born March 29, 1947 in Wellston, Ohio daughter of the late Clarence Jarvis and Ruby Groves Jarvis. Catherine married the love of her life, Larry Ousley, on March 5, 1966. They were married for 49 years before he passed in 2015. She still celebrated their anniversary each year and this past March would have been 57 years. In Catherine's younger days she wasn't scared of anything and got into drag racing with her husband. To hear her story, she could beat any of the guys! As she became a mother, she settled down and picked up the hobby of going to bingo, mainly for socializing. Everyone who knew her knew she never knew a stranger and could talk to you about anything. Catherine was the advisor for the baton group, The Marching Buckeyes, throughout the 80's and 90's. She loved doing it and both of her daughters were involved in the group, as well as other youth in the community. However, the most important job she had in life was being called Mom and Mamaw. Catherine's daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Another passion and love that she had was for her fur babies, Oliver, Zoey, Sammy, Sampson, Cooper, and especially her little buddy Dude. If there was one wish she could have made, it would be to take care of all the animals in this world. If you would like to do anything to honor Catherine, donate to an animal shelter or adopt a pet. Catherine is survived by her daughters, Angela (Jerry Carey) Ousley of Wellston and Candy (David) Cooper of Jackson; grandchildren, Peighton Cooper, Tyler Neff and Jordan Neff; sister, Patricia "Patty" Rice; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Ousley; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence "Peanut" and Sally Jarvis; brother-in-law, Tom Rice; as well as Larry's siblings and their spouses, Buddy and Delcie Ousley, Junior and Kitty Ousley, Tom and Sheila Ousley, Bob and Gertie Ousley, and Donnie and Bea Spruell. Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 12th, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 13th, at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Billy Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery.
