Cathy Cooper Davis

Cathy Dawn Cooper Davis, age 56, of Wellston, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Edgewood Manor of Wellston after a courageous, but short battle with heart failure.

A proud 1988 graduate of Wellston High School, Cathy went on to become a successful cosmetologist. She built a career she truly loved, working primarily in Columbus, Jackson, and Chillicothe, before health issues unfortunately led to her early retirement. Cathy was incredibly social and cherished her many friends; once social media arrived on the scene, it became her favorite way to stay connected. Video chatting became her primary mode to stay deeply involved in the daily lives of those she held dear.

Cathy loved video chatting with her family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren & nieces, whom she affectionately called her "babies." She shared a tight-knit bond with her siblings and even had a special name for her brother and sister, ones that the family will keep private. Known for her ornery sense of humor, Cathy always knew exactly how to bring a smile to anyone's face. She possessed a rare intuition for knowing exactly when her people needed a word of encouragement, a comforting ear, or a well-timed "kick in the behind." Above all else, Cathy fiercely loved her family. Her "babies" were her absolute everything. She was a phenomenal listener, a source of constant joy, and she will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Cathy is survived by her devoted husband of 26 years, Jeremy Ryan Davis; her sons, Seth Davis (Clarissa) and Braylon Davis (Isabella); and her cherished grandsons, Grayson and Clayton. She is also survived by her sister, Lori Silcott-Ousley (Mike); her brother, Scott Cooper; her brother-in-law, Jamie Davis (Stacy); her nephews, Josh Ousley (Kelsey), Tony Silcott (Tasha), Warren Silcott (Tiffany), Zane Moore (Erica), Michael Ousley (Jenna), and as well as several great-nieces, aunts, and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donna Silcott Cooper and Norman "Gene" Cooper; and her grandparents, Pauline Manring Mitchell, James Silcott, Ruthie Manring Ware and Dutch Ware, Edna Cooper, and Norman Cooper.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the American Legion Post 371 in Wellston, Ohio. A dinner will follow the service to honor and remember Cathy's beautiful life. Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.
