Charles A. Kirkendall, age 92, of Hamden, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at the Jenkins Care Community Assisted Living in Wellston, Ohio.  He was born April 14, 1927 in Dundas, Ohio, the son of the late Albert Aaron Kirkendall and Faye Roof Kirkendall.  Charlie was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served during WWII in Germany.  He was the former owner and operator of Charlie's Sohio in Hamden and also a former employee of Seidensticker Construction in Columbus from where he retired.  Charlie always enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting and talking with his family and friends.  He was a member of the Hamden United Methodist Church.  Charlie is survived by his children, Dennis Kirkendall of Delaware, Oh., Randy Kirkendall of Hamden, and Tracy Sage of Sunbury; brother, Roy Kirkendall of Hamden; sister, Rosemary Mankins of Charlotte, NC, as well as 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Susie "Loretta" Kirkendall in 2019; daughter, Ramona Cochran; daughter-in-law, Linda Kirkendall; 1 brother and 4 sisters.  Calling hours will be Friday, February 7, 2020, from 6 to 8 P.M. and Saturday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will be Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor John Pelletier officiating.  Burial, with military honors by V.F.W.
