Charlotte Ohman
Stewart
September 22, 1947 – September 12, 2019
Well-known local artist, Charlotte Ohman Stewart, age 71, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. She was born September 22, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late James W. Ohman and Bernice Charlotte Johnson Ohman. Charlotte graduated in 1965 from Robbinsdale High School in Minnesota and continued her education at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts . Although Charlotte retired from J-Vac Industries, where she enjoyed working for 26 years, her passion and avocation was painting and drawing. Over the years, she received numerous awards for her outstanding pieces of artwork, which she proudly displayed for everyone to enjoy. Charlotte was an active member of Hope United Methodist Church in Wellston. She had a deep faith in God that she carried with her throughout her life. Charlotte greatly admired the late Rev. Billy Graham. When speaking of her final days on earth, she quoted him by saying, "I'm not dying. I'm just changing my address." Along with being active in her church, Charlotte was also a member of the Southern Ohio Arts Council and volunteered with other organizations. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Elizabeth Ohman of Lake Orion, Michigan; nephew, Erick Ohman, his wife Bonnie, and their children, Julia and James, of Sterling Heights, Michigan; niece, Brenda Robinson, and her husband, Mike of Goodrich, Michigan; step-children, Lance Stewart and Laurali Colengelo, both of Manchester, Ohio; faithful companion, John Morris of South Webster; as well as several other nieces, nephews, and her loving family at Hope Church. Besides her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Stewart in 2005. In keeping with Charlotte's wishes, her body was cremated. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, September 22, 2019, at 2 P.M. at the Hope United Methodist Church in Wellston with Pastor Susan Keeton officiating. In lieu of flowers, it was Charlotte's desire that contributions in her memory be given to Hope United Methodist Church; Holzer Hospice; or a favorite charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Online condolences can be given at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
