Christine McKinniss Canter, age 69, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson.  She was born April 26, 1953 in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of the late Hobart D. McKinniss and Christine M. West McKinniss.  Christy was a 1971 graduate of Wellston High School and attended Ohio Northern University and Ohio University.  She was the former owner and operator of 1 Hour Cleaners & Laundromat in Jackson; a former employee at the Colonial Restaurant in Jackson; and a direct support professional with Buckeye Community Services.  Christy is survived by her brother, David McKinniss; nephew, Justin (Jody) McKinniss; sister-in-law, Karen McKinniss; niece, Jeni McKinniss vanOosten; as well as 3 great nieces and several cousins.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Edward "Eddie" McKinniss.  In keeping with Christy's wishes, there will be no visitation.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Ridgewood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions be given to Buckeye Community Services, P.O.
