Christy L. Alexander, age 73, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at her home.  She was born May 17, 1949 in Athens, Ohio to Sherwood Kenneth Perry and Frances Eileen Buck Perry.  Christy attended Brown-Zaleski High School, where she was a cheerleader and head majorette of the band.  She then went on to graduate in 1967 with the first graduating class at Vinton County Consolidated High School.  Christy was a certified paraprofessional who was a former employee at Hope Haven in Jackson for 13 years.  She continued her employment as a paraprofessional at Bundy Elementary and Wellston Middle School until her retirement from the Wellston City School District.  Christy was the former clerk and director of the Jackson County Board of Elections.  In years past, she worked in the office of Dr. Earl J. Levine, as well as various car dealerships in the area.  Christy will be remembered for always enjoying talking with her family and friends.  She is survived by her mother, Eileen Perry of Union Ridge; her husband of 50 years, Michael D. Alexander; son and daughter-in-law, Reggie and Kristina Alexander of Wellston; grandchildren, Destiny, Jayla and Dekon; brother, Jeff Perry of Union Ridge; as well as various other family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father.  In keeping with Christy's wishes, cremation followed her passing.  A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, February 23rd, at 7 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Ridgewood Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
