Claudia J. Wood, age 68, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio.  She was born June 26, 1951 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Ovid Max Matteson and Verjean M. Darnell Matteson.  Claudia was a 1969 graduate of Wellston High School and also a graduate of the Buckeye Hills School of Nursing.  She retired from Four Winds Community, where she was employed as a L.P.N. for several years.  In her spare time, Claudia loved to go bowling and golfing, and she also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.  Claudia is survived by her husband, Forrest E. "Woody" Wood; children, Ronald Fisher and Shannon Fisher, both of Wellston; sisters, Carla Lanane (Terry) of Wellston, Connie McGhee (John) of McArthur, and Carrie Bishop of Louisiana; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Clara Stevison.  Calling hours will be Saturday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 P.M. with Pastor Mark Clingan officiating.  Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
