Dale A. McManus, age 72, of Hamden, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.  He was born September 22, 1952 in McArthur, Ohio, son of the late Jesse McManus and Minnie Gertrude "Janie" Montgomery McManus.  Dale graduated from Vinton County High School with the class of 1970.  He was a talented carpenter who was known for his excellent craftsmanship in building picnic tables and swings for several families in the area.  Besides enjoying his woodworking projects, he was also an avid gardener.  Dale was a dedicated Hamden Volunteer Fireman who served his community for 40 years.  He was presently serving as a councilman for the Village of Hamden, a position he held for several years.  Dale is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Lisa Marie Lindauer McManus; daughters, Hillary Dale Saunders (Bob) and Heidi Jaye McManus; grandchildren, Archer Dale Saunders and Helen Elizabeth Saunders; step-grandchildren, Jacob Saunders (Natalie) and Illyssa Saunders; brothers, Steve McManus (Anita), Randy McManus (Tammy), and Keith McManus (Charlotte); brother-in-law, Charlie Lindauer, Jr. (Yvonne); sister-in-law, Corynne Sprague; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Tom McManus; sister, Sandy Lambert; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Link and Helen Lindauer; brother-in-law, Joe Lindauer; and sister-in-law, Jan Manring.  Calling hours will be Saturday, June 14th, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a fireman's service at 2:45 p.m., at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the fireman's service at 3 p.m. with Pastor David Peoples officiating.  Burial will be in the Hamden Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
