David Edward
Jaycox
December 10, 1971 – May 10, 2020
David Edward Jaycox, age 48, of Wellston, passed away at his home Sunday, May 10, 2020, of complications from injuries he received in an automobile accident in March. He was born December 10, 1971 in Delaware, Ohio. Dave graduated from Wellston High School in 1990, and continued his education at Ohio University in Athens. He was a former Technical Specialist for Southern California Edison. Dave was a sports enthusiast who especially enjoyed watching football and cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals. He loved all animals and was always willing to take in strays. Dave was a member and current President of the Wagon Wheelers Square Dance Club. He had a personal faith in God. He gave his life to Jesus at age 6. David was extremely loving, merciful and caring. He not only rescued animals, but he would sit with those who were ill to relieve the family members for a period of time. And he always had a kind word for everyone. Goodbye my most beloved, precious son until we are again together in Heaven. He is survived by his father and step-mother, Dick and Rebecca Jaycox of Wellston; mother and step-father, Sheryl and Roger Nixon of Toledo, Washington; son, Andrew Pringle of California; brother, Daniel Jaycox of Ft. Myers, Florida; step-brother, Joshua Profitt of Wellston; aunts, Marsha McConnell (Paul) of Worthington; Elaine Maddy (Ken) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mary Ann Brohard of Delaware, Ohio and Marinda Brohard of Delaware, Ohio; along with several cousins and friends. Dave was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald E. and Mary Jaycox and Glen and Louise Brohard. A memorial square dance will be held in David's honor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to the Jackson County Dog Pound, c/o Jackson County Commissioners, 275 Portsmouth Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640. Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
