Dennis O'Connor

Dennis James O’Connor, age 72, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville, Ohio. He was born July 24, 1953 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Robert James O’Connor and Eva Davis O’Connor. Dennis was a 1971 graduate of Wellston High School. Following graduation, he served in the United States Navy as a Corpsman and Surgery Technician. Dennis retired from General Mills in Wellston and was an avid baseball card collector. He is survived by two step-children, Trint Jones of Omaha, Nebraska and Shelly Brooke King of Wellston, and their children; brothers, Patrick O’Connor (Gisela) of Salem, Virginia and Michael O’Connor (Karin) of Jackson, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Parsons O’Connor in 2021; and sisters, Charlotte L. Bates in 2016 and Denise O’Connor in 2025. In keeping with Dennis’ request, cremation followed his passing. Private burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.
