Obituary

Diana Darlene Sharp, age 57, of Dundas, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by loved ones.  She was born March 24, 1967 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Sandra Sue Hughes Sharp and Allen Ray Sharp.  Diana enjoyed sitting on her porch watching the birds and drinking a cup of coffee.  She also enjoyed playing slot machines and loved bowling and playing video games on her tablet.  Most of all, Diana loved the visits and times spent with her family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Sharp; brother, Michael Shane Sharp; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Mary Alzina Hughes, paternal grandparents, Allen and Artie Sharp; niece, Sara Bartoe; loving aunts and uncles, Dorothy (Dwight) Robinette, Florence (Herb) Ousley, Jean (Emery) Marcum, Emmett (Sandy) Hughes, Jay Hughes, and Kay Morris, as well as several cousins.  Diana leaves behind her loving sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Kevin Chesser; nieces, Rachel Chesser (Glen Faulk), Brittany Sharp, and Mackenzie Grigsby; nephew, Shaun Chesser, along with 1 grand niece and 4 grand nephews.  Her survivors also include her Aunt Carol Hughes, Aunt Cathy Bobenko, and Uncle Mickey Morris.  Many loving cousins, their spouses and their children also remain.  Several of her cousins were practically raised alongside Diana and were as close to her as brothers and sisters.  Their connection will endure forever.  Diana leaves behind numerous friends whom she adored, including her special cadre of camping friends that included her in many events and celebrations.  Not least, Diana is survived by her team of home health care assistants from SOAR.  Support from her team allowed her to enjoy living in her own home up until the time of her death.  Many of the assistants became family members to her and will remain special to Diana's relatives.  Diana and her SOAR team were provided additional support from various family members.  Prior to her passing, Diana's aunt, Kay Morris, along with Diana's special cousin, Rhonda McKinster, dedicated many years caring for Diana.  More recently cousin Rebeca McManis and Cody Enlow spent hours daily caring for Diana to provide the best comfort care.  Diana's family is certain that her beautiful soul is at home in heaven with our Lord Jesus and her family that she missed so much.  They know that Diana would say "thank you" for being part of her journey.  And they are POSITIVE she would tell you she "likes you and loves you"!  Graveside service will be Sunday, October 6th, at 2 p.m. at Elk Cemetery in McArthur, with Diana's cousin, Marla Remy, celebrating Diana's life.  An additional celebration of Diana's life will be held at a later date.  For those who wish, the family would appreciate contributions be given to the funeral home to help with expenses.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
