Obituary

In Loving Memory

Neva Diane Woltz, age 70, of Allensville, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2020 surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home. She was born on October 28, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to the late William and Mavis (Bird) Hayes.

Diane was a spiritual warrior who trusted in God in everything that she did. She attended World Outreach Church in Wellston and was a former Sunday school teacher at Antioch (Kelly) Church. She often recited the 91st Psalm: "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in Him I will trust." Diane put God first and had faith that could move mountains. She taught her children and grandchildren the importance of words and the power of prayer.

Diane raised and cared for her 4 children. She graduated from Mifflin High School in Columbus, Ohio in 1967. She studied culinary arts at Hocking College and enjoyed decorating cakes. Diane retired from a 20-year career with the United States Postal Service where she touched the lives of many as a rural mail carrier in Hamden.

Diane loved working in her hillside garden, planting trees, cooking, reading her Bible and spiritual books, watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was often described as a saint by those who knew her, but she was too humble to accept that description. She was a role model for her 7 siblings and was a true example of a godly and compassionate woman. Diane was also a world traveler going places as far as Uganda, Singapore and Cambodia. Her favorite trip was her pilgrimage to Israel.

On April 14, 1973, Diane married Terry Dale Woltz of Allensville. They were married for 47 years before she went to be with the Lord. Diane and Terry spent the last 45 years of their marriage on the homestead they built together.

Diane was preceded in death by her beloved son, Boone Eli Woltz. She is survived by daughters, Tara Renee Woltz of Canal Winchester and Erin Elizabeth (William) Lambert of Allensville; son, Clayton Dale (Hubab Hood) Woltz of Siem Reap; grandchildren, Caleb (Betty) Sowers, Isabelle Lambert, Elizabeth Lambert and Eli Lambert; great-grandchildren, Aubree Sowers and Gabriel Sowers; siblings, Sue Kinzelman, Carmel Hayes, Chris Hayes, Mark Hayes, Melody Pope, Tammy Ernst and Crystal Abdon-Hayes.

Friends may call on Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 11AM to 1PM at McWilliams Funeral Home at 125 East 1st Street in Wellston.
