Donna Sue Eberts McCorkle, age 84, of Hamden, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026 at the home of her daughter in Hamden. She was born April 19, 1942 in Hamden, Ohio to the late Donald M. Eberts and Frances L. Wiseman Eberts. Donna was a 1960 graduate of Hamden High School where she was a majorette and cheerleader for the Hamden Engineers. In years past, Donna was Deputy Auditor for Vinton County, secretary for Eberts Construction, and treasurer for Care Outreach in McArthur. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, taking walks, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Donna’s grandchildren were her pride and joy and her life revolved around them. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cara Dawn and William Wellman; grandchildren, Braden Wellman and Bailey Wellman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lou and Bob Stewart and Shirley and James Boring; nieces and nephews, Rob and Becky Stewart, Eric Boring (Diane), and Amy Hogan; great-nieces, Ashley Miller, Katie Long, and Ariana Hogan; father of her children, and good friend, Gerald Martin; along with several cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Olen G. McCorkle; son, Darren Martin; infant daughters, Tamara and Shelly: and brother, Jerald “Jerry” Eberts. The family would like to thank Advanced Hospice of Portsmouth, Mary Crabtree, and Joann Warren for their wonderful care of Donna. Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 3, at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor David Reid and Braden Wellman officiating. Burial will follow in Hamden Cemetery.
