Doris Jean Brandau, age 88, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.  She was born July 1, 1935 in Coalton, Ohio, daughter of the late Daniel Arthur Griffith and Oleta Clark Griffith.  Doris was a housewife, mother, and homemaker the majority of her life.  She enjoyed working outside in her flower gardens and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.  Doris is survived by her sons, Tom Brandau (Terri) of Wellston, and Terry Brandau of Wellston; grandchildren, Crystal Golden (Randy), Jason Brandau (Jill), and Casey Brandau (Breanna Salzbrun); as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Karl T. Brandau in 2020; daughter-in-law, Sharon Brandau; brothers, Carl Griffith and Allen Griffith; sisters, Frita Grant and Beverly Swanney; and 1 great-grandchild.  Doris requested no funeral services and that cremation follow her passing.  Private burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Doris' memory be given to the Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research, 1145 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43212.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
