Doris E. Davis, age 80, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at her home.  One of eleven children, she was born February 3, 1940 in Greenup, Kentucky, to the late Ulysses Taft Davis and Bertha Alice Dillow Davis.  Doris graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1958.  Following the death of her mother at a young age, Doris kept busy helping raise her siblings, who referred to her as "Little Mom".  She was a former employee at the Pants Factory in Wellston until their closing, and then worked for several years at the School for the Blind in Columbus, from where she retired.  Doris enjoyed reading and listening to music.  In her younger years, she attended the former E.U.B. Church in Wellston.  Doris is survived by her siblings, Larry Robert "Bob" Davis of Wellston, Hubert Wilson Davis of North Carolina, Clyde Taft Davis (Linda) of Gallipolis , Joyce Kay Armentrout of Wellston, Howard Johnson "John" Davis (Betty) of Wellston and Mary Roxie Liming of Wellston; along with several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Doris was preceded in death by sister, Dorothy Davis; and brothers, William Vincent "Bill" Davis, James Arthur Davis, and Arnold Ray Davis.  Calling hours will be Friday, May 29, 2020, from 6 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will be Saturday, May 30, 2020, at 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  For those attending, we ask that you follow the Ohio Department of Health's recommended guidelines for social distancing during this time.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
