Dorothy E. Smith, age 87, of Wellston, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson.  She was born September 18, 1937 in Owensboro, Kentucky, daughter of the late Alfonzo E. Traughber and Bell Mabel Miller Traughber.  Dorothy was a loving housewife and mother who enjoyed fishing, cooking, and taking care of her cats and dogs.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Della Smith; daughter-in-law, Vivian Smith; brother, Robert Traughber; along with 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Butler Smith; son, Butler Howard Smith; and several brothers and sisters.  Funeral service will be Saturday, May 3rd, at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston with Pastor Jason Mathews officiating.  Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton.  Calling hours will be 1 hour prior to the funeral service from 12 to 1 p.m.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
