Douglas George Chance, age 61, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio.  He was born March 29, 1962 in Connersville, Indiana, to Alvah George Chance and Anna Marie Baumer Chance.  Doug was a 1981 graduate of Jackson High School and Buckeye Hills Career Center.  He was a veteran of the Unites States Navy and a former employee of Pillsbury.  Doug was a gun enthusiast and collector.  He also enjoyed photography and attending flea markets.  Doug is survived by his siblings, Laura Chance-Smith (Ned) of Marion, Theresa Chance-Gleason (Ben) of Middlebury, Vermont, Ramona Chance of Grove City, and Kenneth Chance of Rockville, Maryland; nephews, Ben, Daniel, Tim, Walker, McCoy, and Merritt; his longtime companion, Candy Frazier of Jackson; and he was Papaw to Biddy Frazier.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  In keeping with Doug's wishes, cremation followed his passing.  A memorial service will be held at a later time and private interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Jackson.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to one of the following: Wounded Warrior Project; American Diabetes Association; or American Heart Association.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
