Obituary

Edward Eugene Spriggs, Jr., 59, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 14, 2025, after battling cancer and several other serious health problems for several years.  His mother, his aunt Teena, and his beloved dog Ares were with him when he left this world.  Eddie was born in Wellston, Ohio, on November 10, 1965, to the late Edward E. Spriggs, Sr., and Deanna Jean Dickson (Spriggs) who survives.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his aunt Teena Dickson, who was also his caregiver; his uncle Edward Dickson; and his aunt Emily Spriggs as well as several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ed and Alene Dickson, his paternal grandparents Doug Spriggs and Ruth Brown, and aunts and uncles Doris Stevens, Allen Spriggs, Donnie Spriggs, and Carol Coyan, as well as cousins Marlin Russell and Mark Russell.  Three precious fur babies also preceded him: Thor, Zeus, and Brutus Buckeye.

Eddie graduated from Wellston High School with the Class of 1984.  He attended Wilmington College and the University of Rio Grande.  He worked a variety of jobs over the years including construction, bar management, prison guard, car salesman, wrestler, and Eazy E DJ and Karaoke.

Eddie enjoyed traveling with his momma and his aunt Teena.  They had traveled to all fifty states, several Caribbean islands, Mexico, and Canada.  His favorite vacation spot was Pirates Cove on Toledo Bend Lake in Louisiana where he loved fishing from his pontoon.  It was in Louisiana that he developed a taste for Cajun cooking and crawfish.  He also loved riding his Harley-Davidson trike.  Some motorcycle trips included riding to Sturgis, South Dakota; attending Little Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Kentucky; riding the Dragon's Tail in the Smoky Mountains; attending Daytona Beach Bike Week in Florida; and going on from Bike Week to Key West.  Eddie was a die-hard Ohio State Buckeyes fan and a Cincinnati Bengals fan.
