Evelyn L. Leach, age 96, of Wellston, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, August 11, 2023, from Edgewood Manor in Wellston. She was born November 7, 1926 in Rutland, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles and Bonnie (Nelson) Miller. Evelyn was the former owner and operator of Evelyn's Grocery in Middleport for several years. She was a faithful and devoted Christian who was a member of the Wellston Church of the Nazarene. Evelyn loved both playing and listening to Bluegrass music. She was very talented with the guitar and piano and enjoyed sharing that talent with others. Evelyn also enjoyed crocheting and was known for the beautiful afghans that she made throughout the years. Evelyn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Pam Napper of Pataskala; grandson, Jeremy Napper (Debbie) of Canal Winchester; great-grandchildren, Travis Horne (Ashley), Dr. Tori Horne, and Mason Napper; great-great-granddaughter, Madison Horne; sister, Lois Jean Schoonover Stewart; along with several nieces and nephews, and extended family members, Doug and Jewell Pemberton, Sam Harkins and son, James, Wesley and Sarah Harkins and daughters, Evelyn Adele and Margaret Lorraine, and Jessica and Jordan Jacobs and sons, Jay Franklin and James Samuel. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Orville Napper; second husband, Frank Leach; siblings, Kenneth Miller (Audrey), Betty Dill (Charles), Bob Miller (Judy), Donnie Miller (Violet), and Jim Miller; and extended family member, Faith Harkins. Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 16th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Graveside service will immediately follow the calling hours at Ridgewood Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Searls officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Evelyn's memory be given to the Wellston Church of the Nazarene, 39834 St. Rt. 93, Wellston, Ohio 45692.
