Obituary

Everett Edmund Taylor Branscomb, age 81, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at his home.  He was born May 14, 1943 in Bulger, Pennsylvania, son of the late Rev. Everett Taylor Branscomb and Marjorie Mae West Branscomb.  Ed, as he was known to everyone, retired from Mid States Wool Growers where he was employed for several years.  He enjoyed anything to do with cars, as in looking at and buying cars, attending car shows, collecting diecast cars, and watching NASCAR and his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, on T.V.  In his younger years, Ed enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dad and brother.  He attended Freedom Chapel Church in Wellston.  Ed is survived by his siblings, Naomi Branscomb Armstrong of New Matamoras, James Branscomb (Patricia) of Peebles, and Barbara Branscomb Hale of Wellston; grandchildren, James Mercer (Charlotte) and Nichole Riley (Matthew); great-grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Addison, Jacob, and Gordon; nieces and nephews, Pamela Morrow (Ronnie), Mark Venham (Patricia), Dawn Venham, Rob Armstrong (Cindy), Gary Armstrong (Bev), Debbie Hensel (Sam), Diane Clift, Erica Cirillo (John), Angela Branscomb, James Branscomb, Jr. (Janet), Soncelcia Mankin (Derrick), Rebecca Hale, and Heather Hale; along with several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Janice Venham (Dave); an infant brother; brothers-in-law, Bob Armstrong and Harvey Earl Hale; son, J.R. Mercer; nephews, Bill Clift and Harvey "Sonny" Hale; and great-nephew, Matthew Malone.  Calling hours will be Sunday, July 14th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rich Moore officiating.  Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
