Frank Allen Mapes, age 84, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.  He was born March 29, 1941, in Jackson, Ohio, son of the late Glendon Earl Mapes and Olive Oiler Mapes. He was a former employee of the city of Jackson where he worked as a mechanic.  Frank enjoyed tinkering with race cars and motorcycles, he could fix anything.  In his free time, he also liked to golf.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Toby Brubaker Mapes; children, Bob Mapes (Norma) and Jim Mapes; grandchildren, Robert Mapes, Franklin Mapes, and Jeffrey Starnes; great-grandchildren, Franky, M.J., Daytona, Braden, Maddie, Noah, Makenzie, and Ember; sister-in-law, Peggy Isreal; numerous special friends, including his dear friend, Lisa and his co-worker, George Hayth.  Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his daughters, infant child Barbara Mapes and Susan Mapes; siblings, Bob Isreal, Donald Isreal, and Kenneth Isreal.  In keeping with Frank's wishes, cremation followed his passing.
