Obituary

Franklin Delano Wright, age 89, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. He was born May 6, 1934 in Man, West Virginia, son of the late Benjamin and Florence Wright. Frank was a soft-spoken man who loved his family above all else. He also loved animals, enjoyed traveling, old time country music and Christian music, and he especially enjoyed music with the sound of trains in it. Frank was a hard worker and worked in coal mines in Ohio and West Virginia. He is survived by his children, Calvin Wright (Brenda), Anthony Wright, and Gwendolyn Porter; grandchildren, April Porter, Willie Porter (Tanya), Annie Wright, Tammy Lambert, Calvin Wright, Jr., Chris Wright (Susan), Brian Hunt (Marie), and Scott Hunt (Brietta); sister, Thelma; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mary Jane Wright; and siblings, Earl, Sam, Ernest, Denver, and Milton.  Calling hours will be Saturday, July 1st, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Lung officiating.  In keeping with Frank's wishes, cremation will follow the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions given to the funeral home to help with expenses.
