Obituary

Frederick W. "Freddie" Pugh, age 77, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio.  He was born March 24, 1948 in Glenroy, Ohio to Fred S. Pugh and Grace Viola Bright Pugh.  Freddie was a 1967 graduate of Jackson High School and a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam era.  He was a former boiler aide for Georgia Pacific Plywood in Louisville, Mississippi.  Freddie was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 9092 in Wellston, the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston, the AmVets Post 84 of Jackson, and the DAV Jackson County Chapter 45.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.  Freddie is survived by his sisters, Linda Kay (Dave) Roach of Jackson and Patricia Ann Dempsey of Mississippi, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred S. "Dude" Pugh and Grace Viola Bright Sisson; his son, Douglas Wayne Pugh; brothers, Clifford Pugh and Roger Pugh; and nephew, David Roach II.  Calling hours will be Saturday, June 7th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor John Pelletier officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
