Garnette Maynard, age 82, of Hamden, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 25, 2020, from the Edgewood Manor Nursing Facility in Wellston.  She was born February 4, 1938 in German, Kentucky to the late Willie Burchett and Cella Riddle Burchett.  Granny, as she liked to be called, was a former employee of Luigino's in Jackson and she enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for others.  She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and she loved witnessing to others about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Garnette is survived by her siblings, Inez Varney and William Burchett, both of Kentucky; as well as several nieces, nephews and her family at Freedom Baptist Church.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Maynard in 2001; and siblings, Laura Sesco, Cora Lowe, Goldie Johnson, Jetta Robinette, Katherine Parson, Jimmy Burchett, Floyd Burchett and Marvin Burchett.  Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at 2 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston, with Pastor Jerry Eaton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hamden Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, Garnette requested contributions in her memory be given to the Freedom Baptist Church, 198 Orville Brown Road, Jackson, Ohio 45640.  For those who wish to watch and be present in spirit, Garnette's funeral service will be live-streamed on the McWilliams Funeral Home Facebook page starting at 2 P.M. on Wednesday.  Online condolences can be sent to www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
