Gary Lee Massie, Sr., age 83, of Wellston, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.  He was born September 2, 1939 in Jackson County, Ohio, son of the late Weldon R. Massie and Anna Lou Aberts Massie.  Gary was a 1957 graduate of Wellston High School, and was a self-employed carpenter for the majority of his life.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending lots of time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Gary is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rena Grace Coon Massie; children, Gary "Rock" Massie, Jr. (Kim), Charles Weldon "Rusty" Massie, Susan Renee Champion (Wendel Miller), Randy Gene Massie, Tina Marie Inks (Kevin) and Sherri Jo Massie (Dolph Day); sister, Debbie Fields (Matt); as well as 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Tara Harper; and brothers, Larry, Jack and Richard Massie.  Calling hours will be Thursday, March 2nd, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Troy Ervin officiating.  Burial will be in the Byer Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
