Geneva "Rosie"
Jayjohn
August 22, 1940 – November 4, 2022
Geneva R. "Rosie" Brown Jayjohn, age 82, of Wellston, passed away Friday morning, November 4, 2022, at Jenkins Care Community Assisted Living in Wellston. She was born August 22, 1940 in McArthur, Ohio, daughter of the late John Gardner Brown and Wilma Ruth "Peg" Gentry Brown. Rosie graduated from Allensville High School with the class of 1958. She was a former cook at the old Jackson County jail for several years, as well as a cook for several other restaurants in the local area. One couldn't help but love Rosie's contagious laugh and spit fire attitude. She enjoyed traveling, NASCAR, and rocking in her rocking chair working crossword puzzles and scratching lottery tickets. In years past, Rosie always enjoyed participating in the Wellston Rotary Minstrel Shows with her many friends. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wellston. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Norman Scott and Adela Jayjohn of New Hampshire, and Gardner Dean and Dawn Jayjohn of New Jersey; daughter-in-law, Shelley Jayjohn of Wellston; grandchildren, Stephanie, Christina, D.J., Brandi, Duane, Marnee, Jennifer and Mary; sister, Mary Katherine "Kay" Sowers of Allensville; along with 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends, including special friend, Virgene Jayjohn, and special niece, Teresa Williams. Besides her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Norman Jayjohn, Jr., whom she married on June 14, 1958; daughter, Rhonda LeMay; son; Danny Jayjohn; grandson-in-law and BFF, Brad "Bradford" Spencer; granddaughter, Jennifer "Nikki" LeMay; brothers, Butch Brown; and an infant sister. The family would like to give a special thanks to Jenkins Care Community for their wonderful care of Rosie, especially 4 special nurses, April, Tracy Peggy and Mary. Calling hours will be Monday, November 7th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 8th, at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Wyckoff Cemetery.
