Obituary

George E. Carr III, age 74, of Canal Winchester, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.  He was born September 18, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late George E. Carr, Jr.  and Shirley J. Ballard Carr.  George grew up in Wellston and graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1969.  On August 26, 1972, George married his high school sweetheart, Debbie Jeffers, at the former E.U.B. Church Wellston.  The following year, he graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing.  In 2017, George retired from CompuGroup Medical where he was employed as their Lab Sales Team Leader.  George was a devoted Christian and had a faithful relationship with Christ.  He attended X Church in Canal Winchester.  George was an avid golfer who was a shareholder and former member of Hickory Hills Golf Club in Grove City.  He was also a proud supporter of Bloom Carroll Schools and the activities of his grandchildren.  George's family was very important to him, and he cherished the time spent with them.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Debbie Jeffers Carr; children, Gabriel Carr (Jeannie) of Cromwell, Connecticut, Jared Carr (Bethany) of Canal Winchester, and Hannah Crossin (Bill) of Lithopolis; grandchildren, Isaiah Carr, Wesley Carr, Will Crossin, Charlotte Carr, Alexandra Sarda, Kathleen Crossin, Hailey Carr, and Harper Carr; sister, Vicki White; brother, Doug Carr (Kirsten); and mother-in-law, Kay Jeffers.  Besides his parents, George was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Dalton.  A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, November 9th, at 2 p.m. at X Church, 6600 Bigerton Bend, Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the "The Carr for Par Scholarship" at www.carrforpar.golf .  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.  George always encouraged others to seek God, and lived by Romans 5:8.
