George Jarvis

  George Harrison Jarvis, age 59, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Victorian Village in Columbus, Ohio. He was born August 13, 1967 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Roger Ray Jarvis and Carolyn Sue Sorrell Jarvis. George was a 1985 graduate of Vinton County High School. He enjoyed playing games, watching movies and wrestling on TV, and being the center of everyone’s attention. George was known to be a good cook and enjoyed cooking for his friends. He was also a big fan of Ski pop. George was a little man with a big heart and sense of humor that you couldn’t forget. He is survived by brother, Charles Allen “Chuck” McNeely (June); sister, Michelle “Missy” Jarvis; nephew, Roger McNeely (Gabby); niece, Kelsey Maxwell; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife of 17 years, Janet Jarvis, and niece, Leanna Maxwell. Cremation followed George’s passing and a celebration of his life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family request’s contributions be given to the funeral home to help with expenses. Private burial will be in the Vinton Memorial Park.
