Joy Gordon Ramey, Jr., age 81, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born December 20, 1941 in West Virginia, to the late Joy Gordon Ramey, Sr. and Virginia Mae Long Ramey. Gordon was a coal miner who retired from the Southern Ohio Coal Co. Meigs Mine #2. He was a jokester who enjoyed life and spending time with family and friends. Gordon always enjoyed going fishing and hunting, and he loved his chickens, the "Lovely Ladies". He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda C. Robinson Ramey; sons, Jody Allen Ramey, James Harold Ramey, and Joy Gordon Ramey III; brother and sisters, Ed Ramey (Brenda), Dosha Marie Miller, and Gloria Jean Keeney; along with several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by siblings, Vernon, Haley, James, Woodrow, and Alice. Calling hours will be Saturday, May 20 ^th , from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery.
