Obituary

Guy Edward Vanover, age 89, of McArthur, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at his home.  He was born June 14, 1934 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Vernon Vanover and Delphia Greer Vanover.  Guy retired from Great Lake Steel in Michigan, where he was employed for 35 plus years.   In his spare time, Guy always enjoyed working on small engines.  He also loved spending time with his family and attending church at Puritan Free Will Baptist and Putnam Chapel.  Guy is survived by his wife, Molly Shepherd Vanover; daughter, Terri Lollini; brother, Davis Eugene Vanover; sister, Lois G. Weaver; step-daughters, Patty Day, Kimberly Saunders, and Kim Henderson; step-son, Harold Montgomery, Jr.; step-daughter-in-law, Patricia Montgomery; granddaughters, Natalie Larkins, Mary Lollini, and Toni Lollini; grandson, John Lollini; as well as 1 great-grandson, 5 great-granddaughters, 7 step-grandsons, 1 step-granddaughter; 5 nieces, 4 nephews; and a special little friend and great-granddaughter, Aubrielle Bailey.  Besides his parents, Guy was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Waters Vanover; son, Thomas Vanover; brothers, Ewing Vanover and Ray Vanover; sister, Agnes Bowen; step-son, Michael Montgomery; sister-in-law, Joy Vanover; brother-in-law, Fred Weaver; and niece, Sherry Vanover.  At Guy's request, there will be no visitation.  Graveside funeral service will be Saturday, September 23rd, at 1 p.m. at Elk Cemetery in McArthur with Herb Day officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
