Obituary

Harold A. "Andy" Graham of Wellston died February 23, 2025 at the age of 97. He was the oldest child of the late Francis H. and Dorothy (Andrews) Graham. His sister, Evelyn Baldridge Anderson preceded him in death, as did his first wife, Natalia. He is survived by his wife, Linda, and his brother, David (Shirley) Graham, of McArthur. His children also survive him; Brent (Theresa), Gregory (Mindy), and Michelle (Elena). The next generations are Scott Graham, Lauren (Bjarne) Andersen, and Katie Graham, and Lauren and Bjarne's boys, Zack and Luke Andersen.

Andy was born in Union County and raised in Vinton County, Ohio. Following service in the US Army, he returned to attend OSU, where he was graduated in 1954 with both BS and MS in Ceramic Engineering. His career took him to California (where he raised his family) and, after his first retirement, to Massachusetts. After his "real" retirement, Andy and Linda came to Ohio to be with his family and help care for his mother.

Andy's strong Christian faith began in childhood and sustained him throughout his life. Wherever he lived he was active in his church and in service to his Lord. After moving to Ohio, he served as an AARP/Tax Aide preparer, helping many people in the area for several years. He also enjoyed working with children at church through the AWANA program, and helping with the TLC Ministries summer lunch program.

Special thanks to the staff at Abbyshire Place and Buckeye Hospice for their care and support in his final months; and thanks to the many people who reached out with caring and prayers.

This note from dear friends says so much: "He was a true gentleman. A man of God. A sweetheart, generous and loving. It was a privilege to have had him in our lives for so very long. He will be very missed." If you knew Andy and shared his faith, say a prayer, sing a song of praise, or reach out to help someone in need of encouragement. That will be his best memorial.
