Harold Blaine Cline, age 88, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at his home following a brief illness. He was born September 13, 1937 in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Harold Blaine Gibson and Allie Faye Smith Cline. Harold was a 1956 graduate of Wellston High School and went on to receive a master’s degree in education from The Ohio State University. Harold began his working career at McNally Pittsburg Manufacturing in Wellston, but moved to Mead Construction in 1958, working at the Chillicothe, Ohio, Escanaba, Michigan and Kingsport, Tennessee mills. In 1965 Harold joined the Plumbers and Pipefitter Union Local 189 in Columbus, Ohio and worked at a multitude of constructions sites across the state as a pipefitter/weldor. He remained a member for 60 years. In 1975 Harold found his real passion of teaching welding to high school students at the Pickaway-Ross Joint Vocational Center near Chillicothe. In the 30 years of teaching, he referred to the hundreds of students as “his kids”. After retiring, Harold and his wife became snowbirds and lived in Pinellas Park, Florida during the winters. Harold and Susann loved traveling and have been in all the lower 48 United States and seven provinces in Canada. He was a member of the Black Diamond Lodge #538 F&AM in Wellston since 1971. Harold is survived by his wife, Susann C. Brown Hudson Cline; daughter, Loretta Hansel (Pam Longlott) of Chillicothe; four step-children, Curtis Hudson, Christine Cox (Jack) and Beth Kisor (Greg), all of Jackson and Evan Hudson (Tonya) of Canal Winchester; former wife and mother of his children, Gloria D. Daft Cline, along with 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and John “Jay” Downs; and siblings and their spouses, Raleigh Cline (Grace), Henry Cline (Betty), I.O. Bush (Cletus) and Everett Cline. Calling hours will be Saturday, June 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston with a masonic service beginning at 1 p.m. Funeral service will follow the masonic service with Rev.
