Harold James "Jim" McCullough, age 88, of Hamden, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born June 8, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late William James McCullough and Mae Daniels McCullough. Jim was a 1950 graduate of Central Vocational High School in Cincinnati and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served as an aircraft mechanic. Jim retired from Pillsbury in Wellston. He attended the Puritan Free Will Baptist Church, and he enjoyed traveling, bowling, writing and being around his family. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sue Dawson McCullough; children, Sherry Hileman (Carl), Harold "Jim" McCullough, Jr. (Kathy), Mark McCullough (Trish) and Gerald "Jerry" McCullough (Leslie); step-children, Angie Post (Scott), Steven Massie, Danny Massie and Shane Massie (Michelle); grandchildren, Amy, Isaac, Phillip, Christopher, Aaron, Brittany, T.J., Larissa, Jacob, Ryan and Elijah; sisters, Kathleen Flischel (Joe), Karen Olson and Sharleen Squires; brother, Mike McCullough; as well as 17 great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his twin brother, Bill McCullough, brother, Daniel McCullough; and sister, Joy Adams. Calling hours will be Thursday, July 23, 2020, from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Puritan Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 7 P.M. with Pastor Jamie Fortner officiating. In keeping with Jim's wishes, cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions be given to the funeral home to help with expenses.
