Harold David Writesel II, age 69, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born November 26, 1956 in New Jersey to the late Harold David Writesel Sr. and beloved mother Ada May Neace Writesel. Harold was a former employee of McFannin Family and Farms Trucking where he was thought highly of and considered to be a man of many abilities. Harold was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved camping, spending time with family and friends and fishing. Harold is high in the sky looking down at the birds and looking down at his family and friends. He is survived by his girlfriend Mary Davis Lining; Davis family; children, Melissa Sue Writesel (Larry Anderson), Jessica Louise Mullins (Joshua Julian), Jason Troy Writesel and Harold David Writesel III (Billie Alisha Scott); siblings, Beverly Writesel, Kathy Writesel, George Writesel, Hank Writesel, Billy Writesel, Arthur Writesel and Earl Writesel, 12 beloved grandchildren and one beloved great-granddaughter. Besides his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Jay Writesel. Calling hours will be Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Graveside service with military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Centenary Cemetery in Gallipolis with Pastor Shannon Scott officiating.
