Helen C. Benson, age 81, of Wellston, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at her home.  She was one of 12 children born to the late Lawrence Ousley, Sr. and Anastasia C. Essman Ousley on September 19, 1943 in Vinton County, Ohio.  Helen graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1961.  She was a seamstress at the former Kuppenheimer Manufacturing Co. in Wellston for 34 years.  Helen was also a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always supported her family.  Everyone that knew Helen knew that her life revolved around her family.  Helen never slowed down. She was known to be a "working machine" and made sure her family reaped the benefits.  Helen was a people magnet whose sweet and caring personality was enjoyed by all.  In years past, she always enjoyed traveling and loved family vacation at the beach.  Helen was a member of the Corinth Christian Church in Ray and a former active member of the Wellston Ohillco Society.  She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leland E. Benson; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Sheila F. Benson, Brad and Sheila K. Benson, and Barry and Karen Benson; grandchildren, Brittany, Samantha, Michael, Marshall, Chris, and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Madison, Aubree Jo, Kinlee, Teddy, Jax, and Cooper; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Brenda Ousley and Carl and Kim Ousley, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her siblings, Lawrence Ousley, Jr. (Mary), Jack Ousley (Jeanne), Tim Ousley (Mary Agnes), Rita Miller (Ed), Don Ousley (Mary), Jim Ousley (Lisa), Sharon Grimes (Robert), Bob Ousley (Betty), and Dave Ousley (Judy).  Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  A Celebration of Life service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Helen's sons, Steve Benson and Barry Benson officiating.  Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
