Ida Ruth Davis Nettles, age 82, of Wellston, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio.  She was born April 29, 1941 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Frank Preston Davis and Mary Elizabeth Spearry Davis.  Ruth was a former employee of Austin Powder, where she worked for over 25 years.  In her spare time, she loved working in her flower gardens, and she also enjoyed crocheting, working puzzle books, and spending time with her grandchildren.  Ruth is survived by her daughter, Cathy Nettles of Wellston; grandchildren, Samantha Arthur (Steve) of Wellston and Adam Nettles of Wellston; great-grandchildren, Austin Bryan, Mackenzie, Abby and Aiden Arthur, and Jade and Jayden Nettles; sister, Marlene Hayden of Oak Hill; brother, Gary Davis (Cathy) of Wellston; along with several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Erma Nettles; and sisters, Mabel Graham, Jane Long, and Hazel Sorrell.  In keeping with Ruth's wishes, cremation followed her passing.  Private burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
