Belva Jane Carpenter, age 80, of Wellston passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the Four Winds Nursing Facility in Jackson, Ohio.  She was born January 29, 1943 in Jackson County, Ohio daughter of the late Clyde Barnett, Sr. and Dorothy Thacker Barnett. Jane graduated from Allensville High School in 1961 and was an employee of the Milton Banking Company in Wellston for many years. Upon retirement, she worked as a secretary in the Law Office of Shannon Weber. She was a member of the former Wills Chapel Church, now Freedom Chapel, in Wellston. Jane was a loving spirit and loved nothing more than spending time with her family.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend that will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Jane is survived by her son, Chad (Erin) Carpenter; sister, Beverly "June" (Harold "Leroy") Parkison; granddaughters, TJ, Sydney and Peyton Carpenter; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Haynes; brother, Clyde Barnett, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Robert Haynes. Calling hours will be Monday, September 11th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 12th, at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Eli Duduit officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamden Cemetery.
