Jerry Patton, age 86, of Wellston, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Jenkins Care Community in Wellston.  He was born October 18, 1936 in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Elmer Patton, Sr. and Helen Strong Patton.  Jerry was a1954 graduate of Wellston High School, and then later received a degree in Structural Engineering, which he used throughout his working career.  In his spare time and retirement years, Jerry enjoyed golfing and woodworking.  He is survived by Janet Davis of Wellston; children, Sussan Elaine Ganskop of Green River, Wyoming and Samuel James Patton of Phoenix, Arizona; along with 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Patton; siblings, Elmer Patton, Joe Patton, Sue Canter, Juanita McNeal and Jane Ross; and 1 grandson.  In keeping with Jerry's wishes, there will be no services and cremation followed his passing.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
