Joan (Steigner) Aubrey, age 81, of Wellston, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.  She was born March 29, 1943 in Newton Falls, Ohio to her parents, Eli E. Steigner and Lillian (Newmann) Steigner.  Joan was a graduate of Newton Falls High School.  She worked as a phlebotomist for several years, then became a manager of Rax and McDonald's in Wellston.  After retiring, she became an award-winning knitter, an avid reader, lover of cats, collector of Swarovski, and most of all, loved watching her beloved step-granddaughters in their sports.  Joan is survived by her step-son, John (Brenda) Aubrey; step-daughters, Susan (Michael) Hutto and Karen (Paul) Newman; step-grandchildren, Kelli Aubrey, Kimmi Aubrey, and DJ Washam; sisters, Jane (Patrick) Sprague and Kathleen (Robert) Merkich; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and 1 great-great nephew.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Howard L. Aubrey, and brother-in-law, Charles Henry.  At Joan's request, there will be no services.  Cremation followed her passing.  Her ashes, along with her husband Howard's ashes, will be buried together at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Youngstown, Ohio.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can se sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome
