Joan Karen Poeppelman, age 72, of McArthur, formerly of Sidney, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Edgewood Manor in Wellston.  She was born on July 15, 1953 in Boone County, West Virginia to the late Russell Forest Welch and Doris June Hampton Welch.  Joan was an artist who loved to paint.  She also enjoyed crocheting and working puzzles.  Joan is survived by her husband, Richard Wilbur Poeppelman; daughter, Dawn Hargett; son, Russell Hill; grandchildren, John Hargett, Shawn Hargett, Shane Hargett, Wyatt Hill and Lacey Hill; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Emma, Daylynn and Eliana Hargett, as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Steven Hill; siblings, Bert Bradley, Donald Bradley, Steve Welch, Carolyn Welch and Phyllis Wells.  Cremation followed Joan's passing and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.   Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
