Joseph C. "Joe" Ghearing, age 78, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at his home. He was born May 15, 1943 in Portsmouth, Ohio, son of the late Raymond and Lucille (Tolbert) Ghearing. Joe graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1961. He was a former employee at Ward's Drug Store in Wellston for 22 years and then later worked for OGG Wholesale for several years prior to retiring from Luigino's. Joe was an avid bowler for many years and always enjoyed cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bobbie Jo Angles Ghearing; brothers, Leonard Ghearing (Carol) and Larry Ghearing (Whinnie); sisters, Shirley Davis and Rose Prinzbach (Jerry); sisters-in-law, Jeanne Bell and Sharon Angles; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by brothers, George Ghearing and John Ghearing; sisters, Pat Lee and Alberta Handley; and brother-in-law, Darrell Angles. Calling hours will be Sunday, September 26th, from 12 to 3 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 3 p.m. with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. In keeping with Joe's wishes, cremation will follow the service and burial will be in the Hamden Cemetery.
